Debit Cards And Disbursements
Paying Medical Bills
Delta Health Systems' HSA will pay bills that you submit to us for payment. Every time you need Delta Health Systems' HSA to pay a medical bill, please complete a Request for Disbursement form with a copy of your original bill and an Explanation of Benefit (EOB) form from your insurance carrier. Delta Health Systems' HSA will then pay your provider or reimburse you.
While we understand that this process may take longer than simply using a debit card, one of the services we offer relies on our deep health insurance experience to review the Explanation of Benefit from your insurance carrier and insure that you pay only what you should. This service from Delta Health Systems' HSA can be worth tremendous savings to you and we highly recommend that you only use debit cards for paying small health care bills.
Debit Cards
|
Current Delta Health Systems' HSA account holders can check debit card balances online at https://www.mybenny.com/ Note: When you register your account, please use your Social Security Number as your Account ID, not your Delta Account Number. |
Delta Health Systems' HSA offers our account holders a signature based MasterCard debit card. Your card will allow you to make purchases at retail pharmacies, doctors’ offices, dentist offices and other clinical practices as well. If you have requested a Delta Health Systems' HSA debit card, you will receive it within 2 - 3 weeks. Your card will include instructions on how to activate your account.
You must activate your card by calling 866-898-9795 or by visiting our website.
Your debit card will have a daily maximum limit of $500 or less depending on your account balance. If your account balance falls below $50, we cannot process your debit card request. If you need a debit card, you'll find the Request for Debit Card form on our Web site.
Delta Health Systems' HSA wants to caution you about using your debit card at your doctor’s office or hospital. There are two very important reasons that these bills should go directly to your health insurance company. First, your insurance company needs these bills to properly account for your deductible and to know when to start paying for your medical expenses. Second, you enjoy the benefit of discounts that the insurance company has negotiated with doctors and hospitals. Your insurance company will note those discounts on your EOB. Paying at the point of service with debit cards risks your losing these discounts. Have your provider bill your insurance company first.
Please remember to keep your debit card receipts in case of an IRS audit, or send them to Delta Health Systems' HSA for scanning and archiving.
